As an ND, I am trained in multiple natural therapies and use them in accordance with the principles of naturopathic medicine. I very rarely will use only one therapy, but instead will combine therapies to provide a comprehensive treatment plan. Below are therapies I am trained in, and consistently use.
Food can have profound effect on the body, and improving a person's diet is an essential part of treatment. Included in nutrition is also the use of nutritional supplements, which can add additional support.
The use of needles or pressure along specific points of the body to alleviate symptoms and restore balance based on traditional Chinese practices.
Homeopathy is a therapy based on the person as a whole, and on the totality of their symptoms. Used for both chronic and acute complaints, it can be effective in a multitude of conditions.
4. Physical Medicine
Physical medicine includes the use of massage, stretching, naturopathic manipulation, and hydrotherapy.
5. Lifestyle Modification and Counseling
While our daily habits can greatly effect our health, making the changes to improve our well being is a challenge. Counseling on how to make adjustments to daily life in order to improve well being is another essential part of treatment.
6. Botanical Medicine
Botanical medicine is the use of plants in different forms to help support the body and treat a multitude of health conditions. Plants can be a potent tool in treatment, and as an ND I am trained in using them safely and effectively.
7. Naturopathic Doula
In addition to the above therapies, I am also a trained naturopathic birth doula. As a doula, I provide support to both the mother and the birth partner before, during, and after labor. Developing birth plans, reducing pain, and helping new parents transition to life with a newborn are services I can provide.
